Twitter Fleets

Fleets is ephemeral content that one can post on Twitter and it will automatically disappear after 24 hours, just like Instagram’s ‘Stories’ feature. Although, Twitter is kind of late to the party, as platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, and even YouTube have had this feature for a long time now.

Getting details, a highlight of the fleet is that there are no public tweets, replies, or likes.

Like Instagram, fleets will appear at the top of the timeline listed horizontally in the round profile icon. To add, you just have to tap on the “+” sign which is placed in the upper left corner along with your profile picture. Twitter will not only allow you to write, but will also allow you to add GIFs, photos, and videos and live links.

To see the fleet posted by others, you have to swipe upwards but to see the next person’s fleet, you have to swipe horizontally. Flats have a “sticker” -like an option called “reply by DM” that will allow users to reply directly via messages. Additionally, you will also be able to respond to these fleets by emoji.

According to Twitter, all your followers will be able to see your fleets and reply to them if you have made your DM public. You can also see who saw your fleet.

Currently, fleets are available on the mobile app for Twitter. If you access the website through your laptop, you will not see the feature right now.
